Welcome to Vocab Mine. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Vocab Mine application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Vocab Mine Team ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Promptly update your account information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Use the Service to transmit harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content (collection names, feedback, and other user-submitted text are subject to automated content moderation)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

4.1 Free Plan

The Service offers a free plan with limited features as described on our Pricing page. The free plan may be modified at our discretion with reasonable notice.

4.2 Pro Plan

The Pro plan provides enhanced features for a monthly subscription fee. By subscribing to the Pro plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your selected payment method on a recurring monthly basis
  • Subscription fees are billed at the beginning of each billing cycle
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days' advance notice

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account will revert to the Free plan after the billing period ends
  • All your existing words and data will be preserved

4.4 Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, if you experience a significant service issue, please contact us and we will review your case on an individual basis.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

The Service, including its design, features, and original content, is owned by Vocab Mine Team and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express permission.

5.2 AI-Generated Content

The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence services to generate word definitions, examples, exercises, translations, and other learning materials. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, incomplete information, or inappropriate material
  • Word definitions, translations, example sentences, and nuance explanations are provided for general educational reference only and should not be relied upon as authoritative or professional-grade
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional language instruction, translation services, or linguistic expertise
  • We do not review, verify, or endorse AI-generated content before it is displayed to you
  • You use AI-generated content entirely at your own risk

While you may use AI-generated content for your personal learning, you may not:

  • Systematically extract or scrape AI-generated content for commercial use
  • Republish AI-generated content as your own work

5.3 Your Content

You retain ownership of the words and vocabulary lists you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and store your content to provide the Service to you.

5.4 Community Content

When you share collections publicly in the Community section, other users may view and clone your shared collections. You may unshare your collections at any time. Feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions you submit may be used to improve the Service.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We expressly disclaim all warranties regarding:

  • The accuracy, completeness, reliability, or correctness of any AI-generated content, including word definitions, meanings, translations, example sentences, nuance explanations, and exercises
  • The suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose, including academic, professional, or commercial use
  • The absence of errors, offensive material, or inappropriate content in AI-generated output
  • The uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service

AI-generated content is produced by third-party services over which we have no direct control. We do not manually review, edit, or approve content before it is presented to you. You acknowledge that AI technology is inherently imperfect and may produce results that are inaccurate, misleading, or offensive.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We shall not be liable for any damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content, including but not limited to incorrect definitions, inaccurate translations, misleading examples, or offensive material
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
  • We are not liable for any actions you take or decisions you make based on content provided by the Service
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ten US dollars (USD $10), whichever is greater

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vocab Mine Team and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service or any AI-generated content
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Any content you submit to or through the Service

9. Account Termination

9.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page in the application. Upon account deletion:

  • Your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you can reactivate it
  • After the 30-day grace period, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted
  • Any active subscription will be cancelled

9.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will provide reasonable notice when possible, except in cases of severe violations where immediate action is necessary.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between you and us. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days of written notice, the parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing any other legal remedies. The specific governing law and venue will be determined based on the jurisdiction in which Vocab Mine Team is legally established at the time a dispute arises, and you will be notified of these details upon request.
